Welcome, Wanderer!

I have always been a traveler. Whether I was born with it in my blood or it was instilled in me from my first trip at six weeks old, it is an innate part of who I am.

It is also an integral part of how I explore who I am. In my teens and 20s, travel was about adventure - going somewhere new and experiencing something beyond what I could find at home. In my 30s, I began to realize the important role that travel plays in my journey of self-discovery.

Today, it is the possibiity of the unknown and uncommon that continues to draw me to the map … whether it’s the unknown experiences of what I may find down a side street in Barcelona or in a Vampire speakeasy in New Orleans.

It’s not just the possiblity of what the unknown holds but what it teaches me about myself. The more I allow myself to lean into the unknown (and sometimes uncomfortable) experiences of wandering, the more aware I become of who I am, who I’ve been, and who I’m becoming (or want to become) in my everyday life.

That’s not to say there isn’t room for the familiar in both travel and life. It’s often the draw of a common tourist attraction that gets us to a destination or the comfort of a familiar place that calls us back. However, even in the familiar there is room for the unknown and uncommon.

It’s our willingness to seek out (and be open to) the uncommon experiences and unknown places where the magic happens. It’s where the stories begin, and our travels become unforgettable

It’s this intention of encouraging other wanderers to embrace the unknown that I welcome you to Wander to Breathe … a place where travel stories intended to guide you and inspire you to seek the uncommon, unknown, and unforgettable both near and far.

I can’t wait to wander with you and help you find your own magic on the map … and remember, “It’s not about the destination, but who you become along the way.”

Lots of Love, Mindy
